Lifting and Handling Services Limited has compiled "The Law and You" to provide a guide to statutory requirements for materials handling equipment for the benefit of our clients.
It is not a legal interpretation of the legislation, just a précis for the benefit of our clients. further information can be obtained from the web sites listed at the end of "The Law and You" and by referring to the relevant legislation.
Where the legislation does not prescribe thorough examination intervals for certain industries Lifting and Handling Services Limited has used a combination of intervals specified in other appropriate legislation and/or industry norms. This should reduce the risk of employers not complying with the requirements of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and regulations made under the Act.
In this document, the term "Employer" also includes any person who has control of lifting equipment in connection with the carrying on by him of a business or trade.
